April 11 - 9th Annual Earth Day Marina at Locke-Paddon Community Park from 9a.m. to 1p.m. Celebrate our planet and the city of Marina by working together on fun environmental service projects. Help remove invasive plants, plant native plants, paint benches & trash cans, put down mulch along the fence line & pick up trash. Volunteers will be provided a free lunch put on by the Marina Rotary and there will be over 25 booths with games, crafts and giveaways as well as interactive learning booths. Music will be provided by Bag O'Tricks. Register by 8:45a.m. at Locke-Paddon Park at Seaside Circle near the Marina Library. Bring your water bottle and wear long sleeves. April 11 & 12 - Annual Good Old Days Celebration in Pacific Grove starting at 10a.m. with a parade rain or shine. Truly a fun event for the whole family. April 16 - 19 - Sea Otter Classic Cycling Event. Sea Otter Classic is the largest cycling festival and consumer bike exposition in North America. The event includes a wide variety of bike races and fun rides for every kind, level and age of rider, an expo with more than 250 exhibitors, club zones, a product demo area, a ride zone, stunt shows & kids activities.www.seaotterclassic.com
April 25 - Walk With Me Easter Seals Central California at Sherwood Park in Salinas. Walk with Me for Disability Awareness & Resource Fair. The more, the merrier! Invite friends and neighbors to this family-friendly community event and help support a great cause. The day will start off with Easter Seals' signature Walk With Me as attendees walk to raise funds for disability services. Put together your own team of walkers, rollers and strollers and show your support. After the walk, enjoy a resource fair with dozens of community organizations and family-friendly interactive activities about disability awareness, food, raffles and fun! Registration begins at 9am. April 25 - Science Saturday at the Pacific Grove Museum.
Bring your shells, rocks, insects, feathers, bones, & plants to Identification Day! Natural science experts from the Bureau of Land Management will do their best to identify those mystery flowers, feathers, and rocks from your yard, while their archaeologists will be on hand to tell you more about that mysterious garage sale find or attic discoveries. Make a field guide, identify bird calls, & learn from the experts of the BLM during this day all about identifying objects in our natural world. Drop in anytime between 11a.m & 3p.m. during this free event to enjoy hands-on science activities. Museum admission is free for all guests on Science Saturday! www.pgmuseum.org
April 25 - Just Run! Just Kids 3K. The race begins at 8a.m. at Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove. Must be four years of age or older and in good health to participate. This is a non-competitive fun run and is not timed or scored.For pre-registration and more information click here for www.bsim.org
April 26 - Big Sur International Marathon - Hwy 1, Big Sur to Carmel. This marathon, consistently named the Best Marathon in North America by The Ultimate Guide to Marathons, is set along one of the most breathtaking routes in the world. April 26 - Día del Niño at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Live Latin performances, bilingual animal feeding shows, a craft room and more are part of this annual celebration of children and families. Children 12 & under will be admitted free all day. www.montereybayaquarium.org
