April 8 - Annual Earth Day Marina at Locke-Paddon Community Park from 9am to 1pm. Celebrate our planet and the city of Marina by working together on fun environmental service projects. Help remove invasive plants, plant native plants, paint benches & trash cans, put down mulch along the fence line & pick up trash. Volunteers will be provided a free lunch and there will be over 25 booths with games, crafts and giveaways as well as interactive learning booths. Register by 8:45a.m. at Locke-Paddon Park at Seaside Circle near the Marina Library. Bring your water bottle and wear long sleeves. More information go to www.c4smarina.weebly.com
April 8 - Pinnacles National Monument Single Day Adventure Ventana Wildlife Society & Lyceum Spend the day hiking around this beautiful Monterey County treasure. Watch for falcons, hawks and condors wheeling around the ancient volcanic cliffs. Scramble through the Balcony Caves with your flashlight and emerge into a cool riparian habitat for ages 8-12 from 9am to 4pm at Pinnacles National Park - $50. To register www.lyceum.org
April 8 & 9 - Annual Good Old Days Celebration in Pacific Grove starting at 9am. The largest arts and craft show in the county, the Good Old Days boasts over 225 art and food vendors in downtown Pacific Grove, a parade down Pine Avenue, live entertainment on five stages, old-fashioned games and contests, and lots of family fun. April 20 - 23 - Sea Otter Classic Cycling Event. Sea Otter Classic is the largest cycling festival and consumer bike exposition in North America. The event includes a wide variety of bike races and fun rides for every kind, level and age of rider, an expo with more than 250 exhibitors, club zones, a product demo area, a ride zone, stunt shows & kids activities. www.seaotterclassic.com
April 30 - Big Sur International Marathon - Hwy 1, Big Sur to Carmel. This marathon, consistently named the Best Marathon in North America by The Ultimate Guide to Marathons, is set along one of the most breathtaking routes in the world. April 15 - Annual Breakfast with the Bunny in Carmel. Each year on the Saturday before Easter, the Carmel Host Lions Club hosts Breakfast with the Bunny in Devendorf Park in downtown Carmel. The party is not an egg hunt, but a morning feast, games and other fun holiday-inspired activities for adults and children, alike. Visit the Easter Bunny, have your face painted and otherwise celebrate spring’s arrival in the city’s beautiful downtown park.
April 15 - The City of Seaside will be holding its annual Golden Egg Hunt from 11am to 1pm at the Oldemeyer Center located at 986 Hilby Avenue in Seaside. For Toddlers to 5th grade or younger, this event features an egg hunt that begins promptly at 11am, fun activities, interactive crafts, Bounce houses, petting zoo, a visit from the Easter Bunny and 18,000 eggs! Admission is free for children and parents. This event is sponsored by the City of Seaside. For more information www.ci.seaside.ca.us
April 15 - Annual Bunny Breakfast at the Rocky Han Community Center,
211 Hillcrest Avenue in Marina. 7am to 11am. Bunny Breakfast, basket and bonnet-making crafts and entertainment. Kids show off their Easter baskets & bonnets in a parade at 10:30am, followed by a traditional egg hunt (no prizes) at 11am. This is a free event hosted by the Lions Club, Marina Kiwanis, Marina Youth & Arts, and the Volunteer Firefighters Association.
