Month of December - Drive or walk through Pacific Grove's famous Candy Cane Lane on Morse Drive off of Forest Avenue.

December - Christmas Night at the Farm. Sing carols around a bonfire, moonlight hayrides, hot apple cider, and homemade cookies. 6-9pm. For more information click here.

December 1 - Pacific Grove's 10th Annual Parade of Lights starts at 6pm in downtown Pacific Grove. The parade features marching bands, holiday floats, dance teams and Santa Claus. After the parade stores will remain open for holiday shopping and wagon rides. Photos with Santa also offered. For more information go to www.pacificgrove.org

December 2 - 4 - 13th Annual Monterey Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival at the Monterey Conference Center. This popular annual event for all ages celebrates Monterey's contribution to our western heritage with cowboy poetry, song and a first class Christmas Western Art and Gear show. The festival brings together people from all over the United States to enjoy and learn more about the "cowboy way of life," including its history, current values and culture. December 2 - Carmel tree lighting - Santa arrives at 4:30pm, tree lighting at 5:45pm rain or shine. Ocean and Junipero avenues in Carmel. Live music, refreshments and more. 831-620-2020.

December 3 - 18th Annual Stillwell's Snow in the Park in Pacific Grove. Caledonia Park is covered in a blanket of glistening snow surrounded by festive lights from 10am - 4pm. December 4 - Brighten The Harbor in Monterey. Boats decorated with Christmas lights parade from the Coast Guard Pier to Lover's Point and back starting at 6pm. Call 831-657-0855 or www.mpyc.org for more information.

December 7 - 10 - Streets of Bethlehem in Salinas. Over 200 cast members, numerous musical groups and live animals help recreate and bring this Christmas story to life. Call 831-422-9872 or go to www.streetsofbethlehem.com for more information.

Dec. 8 – 10 - Christmas at 23 historic Adobes in downtown Monterey. Holiday decorations, entertainment, refreshments, music and dancing. Tickets available at Cooper Museum Store 525 Polk St. Munras and Alvarado. Adult $20 Youth (6-17) $2 Child 5 and under free. Info 649-7120.

December 31 - First Night Monterey Downtown Monterey. Celebration of New Year's Eve through the arts. Music, dances, poetry, special installations and exhibits from 2pm to midnight indoors and out throughout historic downtown Monterey. Alcohol-free event for the entire family. 831-373-4778 or
