January 1 - 22nd Annual Rio Resolution Run
in Carmel. This run includes a 10K and a 5K course. Walkers, strollers and dogs on a leash are encouraged for this fun event. January 21 - Whalefest Monterey at Fisherman's Wharf.This is a fundraising event to benefit many local marine conservation non-profit
organizations. Don't miss a free fun event for all
ages that celebrates the Monterey Bay and whales, while benefiting many local marine organizations. The event will run from 9am to 10pm. The Old Fisherman's Wharf Association is sponsoring the event.
The day will feature a wide array of fun activities
including a scavenger hunt, a bocce tournament on Fisherman's Wharf,
whale watching excursions, live music and entertainment, a special
concert with Barbara Joy and the La Mesa School Children's Chorus
directed by Gloria A. Souza, a dance, informative and educational
exhibits by marine organizations, a raffle, and documentary and film
screenings, and much more. Several local hotels in Monterey are offering
