What's Happening This Month?

March 3 - 5 - Jazz Bash by the Bay features top national jazz bands, local youth bands, swing and other forms of classic jazz at in the Portola Plaza Hotel and Fisherman's Wharf. For more information go to www.jazzbashmonterey.com

March 4 - Monterey Bay Sports League will hold a soccer clinic from 10am - 12noon at CSUMB soccer field. The clinic is free for kids ages 4 to 11 years old. For further details and to learn more about MBSL go to www.mbsl.us

March 25 - Science Saturday at Pacific Grove Museum. 11am – 3pm. Admission to the Museum is free to everyone during Science Saturday. www.pgmuseum.org

March 29 - May 3 - Cosmic Puzzles II! Make Math Fun for your Middle School Child at the Lyceum. Are you a parent looking for ways to make math fun and exciting for your child? Look no further! Students will explore various types of non-video games and will participate in team and individual competitions from the simplest to the most mind-bending. Following this will be an introduction to the largest and smallest numbers known that describe our universe, and will show how the idea of proportions rules our modern world. Each session will end with a chance to solve some of the best puzzles and conundrums from ancient times to the present, including "The Prisoners Dilemma". Register at www.lyceum.org

Through April 9 - PacRep Theatre proudly presents Disney's Jungle Books, Kids at the Golden Bough Playhouse, located on Monte Verde between 8th & 9th, in Carmel. The jungle is jumpin' with a jazzy beat in Disney's Jungle Book, KIDS, adapted from the classic Disney animated film, and featuring a host of colorful characters and famous songs from the classic score. Pacific Repertory Theatre’s School of Dramatic Arts (SoDA) presents Disney’s Jungle Book, Kids, Directed and Choreographed by Susanne Burns, with vocal direction by Desma Johnson. Performances run 90 minutes, including intermission. Friday & Saturday evenings at 7:30pm; and Saturday/Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. General admission single ticket prices for the SoDA Season productions range from $8 to $20 with discounts available for children, students, teachers, seniors over 65, and active military.
